Health insurance going up every 3 months. Is this normal?
Scott R asked:
My health insurance is going up every 3 months and has raised $80 in the past year. I haven’t been to the doctor in 2 years and have never been to the hospital so it’s not that I’m using it a lot. I’m a 22 year old that doesn’t have a single health problem. Is there anyway I can stop by insurance from climbing up every month like this? I can’t afford to keep paying this if it’s going to be $80 more every year.
Also, my policy is covered for mammograms and pregnancy even though I’m male so I’m confused. Aren’t there supposed to be seperate insurances for males and females?

Shop for a better plan. Also a lot of that increase is due to State and Federal surcharges to help pay for the uninsured. Welcome to the world of the hard working taxpayer.

Is it a group employer plan? Then there’s nothing you can do. If you have an individual plan, consider shopping around or changing coverage.
